What does a self-portrait reveal about the person behind the artwork?

For our first Family Art Circle assignment, each artist was invited to create a self-portrait using a medium and approach of their choice. Some embraced traditional portraiture, while others explored personality, imagination, symbolism, and humor.

The results are five wonderfully different expressions of identity, reminding us that there is no single way to see ourselves—or to be seen.
